The research's findings, obtained from the Design Project I and II completed by our recent graduates under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Gürmen from the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department of our Faculty, have been published in the prestigious "Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly" journal. The objective of this study was to investigate the potential of ultrasound-assisted leaching as an alternative to traditional hydrometallurgical leaching procedures.
Within the scope of Design Project I and II completed in the academic year 2022-23, graduation work of students from our Faculty of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, has been published in the prestigious "Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly" journal.
In this study, our students investigated ultrasound-assisted leaching as an alternative to conventional hydrometallurgical leaching processes, and with this application, promising results were obtained in the selective leaching of lithium from Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) batteries with high efficiency.
